On Thursday October 9th, The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce and Melvin Morris had a ribbon cutting for the reopening of his newly renovated art gallery. The gallery was once utilized on the second floor of the building for the past five years. The building was acquired earlier this year and closed for major renovations to the first floor which served as a local gym.
The first floor has now become a major part of the gallery and serves as an essential part of the space. The addition of the renovated first floor allows for larger exhibitions. Included in the renovations is a large stage to showcase more live art related performances. The gallery will host several events for the remainder of the year to include a monthly food and wine tasting during a live jazz performance. That event will be topped off with “live karaoke” which was requested by several community patrons that experienced the gallery events prior to the renovations.
You can follow the social media or stop by the gallery to get information on upcoming events.
The gallery will resume Jazz Brunch in 2026 and looks forward to hosting a full calendar of events in the new year. Art Exhibitions, Youth Art Summer Camps, Food and Wine Tasting, Jazz Brunch Dinner Theater, and more!
