The Chamber Ambassadors met on February 13th . We had a great meeting sharing information with each other. The Ambassadors are the Public Relations arm of The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce. The Ribbon is cut at David’s Designs
On January 6, 2025, David’s Designs opened a home decor and floral design shop at 1007 N Roberts Ave in Lumberton. The shop is owned and operated by David Locklear. David is joined by designer Cameron Chavis, and together, they create distinctive pieces. The shop features designer wreaths and custom bows crafted with premium designer ribbons. The store showcases custom-designed wreaths, floral arrangements, and home decor that are uncommon in retail stores. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm.

SBA
ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding small businesses and private nonprofit (PNP)organizations in North Carolina of the March 17, deadline to apply for low interest federal disaster loans to offset economic losses caused by the drought that began on July 9, 2024.
The disaster declaration covers the counties of Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender and Robeson, as well as the counties of Dillon and Horry in South Carolina.
Under this declaration, SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and PNPs that suffered financial losses directly related to the disaster. The SBA is unable to provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers, or ranchers, except for small aquaculture enterprises.
EIDLs are available for working capital needs caused by the disaster and are available even if the business or PNP did not suffer any physical damage. The loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that could have been paid had the disaster not occurred.
The loan amount can be up to $2 million with interest rates as low as 4% for small businesses and 3.25% for PNPs, with terms up to 30 years. Interest does not accrue, and payments are not due, until 12 months from the date of the first loan disbursement. The SBA sets loan amount terms based on each applicant’s financial condition

Double L Farms Meats joins Lumberton Chamber
Double L Farms Meats has joined the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce. Brian and Lisa Locklear are the owners. The couple purchased a 43-acre farm on Pine Log Road in 2017 because they had a vision to raise their own beef and pork and sell high quality farm fresh meat. In June 2023 their vision was realized and Double L Farms Meats opened. The family strives to be stewarts of the land and caretakers of the animals while providing flavorful, fresh meat at an affordable price. Mind Body Wellness Centre cuts the ribbon
Mind Body Wellness Centre is open and held a ribbon cutting recently. The new business is located at 2604 North Elm Street in Lumberton and is owned by local resident Heather Estrada. Being rooted in faith, they believe in building relationships and creating individualized care to each person who walks through their door. Together we will develop a treatment best suited to your specific needs, whether that be chronic pain management with massage or an hour of relaxation to reduce stress and promote a healthier mind body connection. A ribbon cutting was held recently for Subway located at 2785 W. 5th Street in Lumberton. The business offers new bold flavors along with old favorites to satisfy guests every day. The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce held an anniversary ribbon cutting for 219 ELM and Legal Grounds. 219 ELM, which houses Legal Grounds Coffee Shop as well as Gigi’s Antiques and Collectables, The Closet Ladies Clothing and the Book Store, celebrated their one-year anniversary with the help of the Chamber and local government representatives. Hoping to support the revitalization of the Historic Downtown Lumberton District, Gidget and Tommy Vickers opened 219 ELM and provide a casual shopping and destination with excellent coffee and food selections from local family suppliers. The business also offers a relaxing environment with free WIFI, meeting space and open seating to relax, read, enjoy game night, listen to music, or meet with local friends and family. 219 is available for your private meetings or group functions. The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for Tuscany New York Pizzeria.
