Prayer and Faith Worship Center Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in
Lumberton N.C.–May 17, 2026
Prayer and Faith Worship Center proudly celebrated its official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 17, 2026, at its new location, 1106 N. Water Street, Lumberton, North Carolina. The special occasion marked an exciting milestone for the growing ministry as church leaders, city officials, community partners, and local residents gathered to welcome the church into the Lumberton business and faith community. Pastor Rodger and Pastor Donna expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the event a memorable success. Special thanks were extended to Pastor Rogers, the Mayor of Lumberton, members of the City Council, the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce Board and Committee members, and the Chief of Police for their presence, encouragement, and warm welcome. Their support demonstrated the strong spirit of partnership that exists within the Lumberton community.
The ceremony, coordinated in partnership with the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce, provided an opportunity for guests to tour the church, meet ministry leaders, and learn more about the vision and mission of Prayer and Faith Worship Center. The event highlighted the church’s commitment to serving both the spiritual and practical needs of individuals and families throughout the region. Prayer and Faith Worship Center is guided by the mission statement, “We come to worship and depart to serve.” This mission is reflected in two primary areas of ministry. First, the church is dedicated to worship, discipleship, prayer, and biblical teaching through its regular worship services held on Sundays and Wednesdays. Second, the church seeks to serve others through meaningful outreach ministries that extend beyond the church walls.
Among its community–focused efforts, the church supports orphans in Kisii, Kenya, ministers to elderly residents at the Carrolton Nursing Home, operates a food pantry, and maintains a clothes closet to assist individuals and families facing hardship. These ministries reflect the congregation’s desire to share God’s love through both word and action. “We are honored and humbled by the support shown by our community,” said church leadership. “This ribbon cutting ceremony represents more than the opening of a building–it represents a commitment to worship God, serve people, and be a source of hope, encouragement, and compassion throughout Lumberton and beyond.” Prayer and Faith Worship Center welcomes all who are seeking a place of faith, fellowship, and service. Village Kids Celebrates Grand Opening of Lumberton Office,
Expanding Access to
Children’s Dental Care in Robeson County
LUMBERTON, NC (June 5, 2026) – Village Kids proudly celebrated the grand opening and
ribbon cutting of its newest location, Village Kids of Lumberton, on June 5, 2026.
Community leaders, local families, healthcare partners, and team members gathered to
commemorate the opening of the practice, which will provide comprehensive dental care
for children throughout Lumberton, Robeson County, and surrounding communities.
The new office is staffed by four dentists dedicated to delivering high-quality,
compassionate care in a welcoming, child-focused environment designed to help young
patients build confidence and maintain healthy smiles for life.
Village Kids of Lumberton offers preventive care, dental cleanings, restorative treatment,
emergency dental care, and specialized services tailored to the unique needs of children and
adolescents. The office combines modern technology with a friendly atmosphere to create
positive dental experiences for every patient and family.

The Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic was held Thursday, May 14th at Pine Crest Golf Club. And what a great day for a tournament! We would like to thank the businesses that assisted in making this day so successful. The luncheon was catered by Outback Steakhouse and the beverages were provided by Healy Wholesale and Pepsi Bottling Ventures. The Hole-in- one sponsor was Peterson Toyota. The winning team for the tournament was Zaxby’s with a score of 59 which consisted of Darren Hunt, Robbie Davis, Elijah Goodwin and Rico Jordan. Second Place was Lumbee Guaranty Bank with a score of 60 with a score card playoff which consisted of Bradley Strickland, Jamison Strickland, Marcus Bryant and Kajun Hunt. Third place went to Campbelton Grove Luxury Events Center with a score of 60 which consisted of Tony Walters, Mike Register, Kelton Byrd and Baxter Canady. Closest to the pin on #2 Lamark Harris, Closest to the pin on #7 Lonnil Locklear, Closest to the pin on #12 was Clayton Pridgen, Most Accurate Drive on #8 was Ashley Kling and on #3 was Terrance Mc Callum.
The tournament had a host of great volunteers which consisted of Tournament Chair, Suzanne Abbott-Abbott Insurance Services. Other finance members were Monica Herring-First Bank, Linda Branch-7th Wave Properties, LLC, Rose & Alan Avant, and Cindy Kern-Lumberton Chamber.
